Veteran English teacher Shen Ming from Guangzhou has significantly improved student engagement and performance during her year-long exchange at a middle school in Shufu County, Xinjiang, as part of a national program to enhance education in the region.
Since August 2024, her interactive, student-centered teaching methods—including mind maps, personalized feedback, and emotional encouragement—have helped students overcome weak foundational skills and academic gaps.
One student rose from the bottom of the class to the top 20, and several earned provincial honors in English competitions.
