The China-Malaysia "Two Countries, Twin Parks" initiative, launched 12 years ago with industrial parks in Kuantan and Qinzhou, is being upgraded to boost industrial integration, digital innovation, and supply chain resilience.
A direct shipping route between the two ports has supported record bilateral trade of $212.03 billion in 2024.
The Qinzhou park has attracted 345 projects, generated significant output, and drawn foreign investment, while both sides aim to expand cooperation through policy coordination, trade facilitation, and plans for an AI-powered digital special zone.
The model is seen as a blueprint for sustainable, innovation-driven regional cooperation.
