Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris was carted off the field during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos after a non-contact lower left leg injury.
The injury occurred when Harris planted his foot in the artificial turf while in the backfield, causing him to fall and be ruled out for the remainder of the game.
He had six carries for 28 yards and three receptions for 25 yards in the contest, bringing his season totals to 61 rushing yards on 15 carries and 25 receiving yards across three games.
Over five NFL seasons with the Steelers and Chargers, Harris has 4,373 rushing yards, 28 touchdowns, 183 receptions, and 1,174 receiving yards.
A first-round pick in 2021 from Alabama, he earned Pro Bowl honors in his rookie year.
His injury comes after he missed training camp due to a fireworks-related eye injury.
