Azerbaijan hosted an international conference in Baku, “Guardians of Sovereignty: Constitutional Status of the Prosecutor's Office,” marking the 107th anniversary of its Prosecutor’s Office and the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty.
Organized by the Prosecutor General’s Office, the event brought together legal officials from nations including Uganda, Kenya, Türkiye, China, Serbia, and others to discuss the constitutional role of prosecutorial institutions in upholding the rule of law, judicial independence, and combating corruption.
Speakers, including Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev, emphasized the office’s independence, its duty to protect national sovereignty and human rights, and its importance in advancing democratic governance.
The conference highlighted efforts to strengthen legal frameworks, promote international cooperation, and support institutional integrity amid evolving global challenges.
