Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Jodhpur on September 21, 2025, to lay the foundation stone for new college buildings and hostels at Shri Parsamal Bohra Netraheen Mahavidyalaya, a school for the visually impaired.
The event, held at the Ramraj Nagar campus, included over 400 police personnel for security and featured remarks by Shah praising Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to empower persons with disabilities.
Shah highlighted the shift from the term "Viklang" to "Divyang" in 2015, budget growth for disability empowerment, improved airport accessibility, Paralympic achievements, and widespread prosthetic aid distribution.
The college, founded in 1977, now serves over 1,250 students and has supported thousands through education and training.
The visit precedes PM Modi’s upcoming trip to Rajasthan for major infrastructure and energy projects.
