On September 21, 2025, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Oman launched the "Itqan" professional student registry to boost graduate employability by systematically documenting academic, professional, and extracurricular experiences.
Supported by the Minister of Higher Education, the initiative records internships, workshops, competitions, volunteering, entrepreneurship, and other activities, linking them to academic goals.
It aims to align education with labor market needs, enhance students’ readiness for jobs, and provide official certificates that strengthen resumes.
Developed with input from private sector and government partners, Itqan supports self-assessment, credibility of qualifications, and global competitiveness, reflecting UTAS’s broader strategy to integrate academic and professional development for student success.
