Houston Texans CB Derek Stingley Jr. exited vs. Jaguars with a rib injury, raising concerns for his availability.
Houston Texans All-Pro cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. left Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first quarter with a rib injury sustained during the Jaguars’ opening touchdown drive, on which he was penalized for pass interference.
After briefly returning for one defensive series, he departed for good and was replaced by Tremon Smith.
Stingley, who has recorded five interceptions in each of the past two seasons, remains questionable for future games.
His absence adds to the strain on the Texans’ already depleted secondary, following the placement of teammate Jaylin Smith on injured reserve the previous day.
