FBI dropped probe into Tom Homan accepting $50K cash, citing no evidence and political motive.
In 2024, FBI undercover agents recorded Tom Homan, later appointed Trump’s border czar, accepting $50,000 in cash, allegedly in exchange for influencing future government contracts related to border enforcement.
The investigation, launched under the Biden administration and involving the DOJ’s Public Integrity Section and U.S. Attorney’s office in Texas, was reportedly delayed after Trump’s 2024 election.
After Trump’s inauguration in January 2025, the case was closed by Trump appointees, who stated it lacked credible evidence and was politically motivated.
FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the probe found no wrongdoing and was a waste of resources.
The White House echoed this, calling it a baseless effort targeting Trump allies.
Homan, a former ICE acting director with ties to private contractors, has not been charged, as he was not a public official at the time of the alleged transaction.
The case remains officially closed with no further action taken.
El FBI abandonó la investigación de que Tom Homan aceptara $50 mil en efectivo, citando que no había pruebas y motivos políticos.
