Delhi University college principal suspended over March harassment allegations he denies, calling them politically motivated.
The principal of Ramanujan College, Delhi University, was suspended on September 18 following harassment allegations filed in March, which he denies as false and politically motivated. He claims the complaint was retaliatory after denying a promotion due to incomplete paperwork and alleges undue political pressure, procedural violations under UGC and PoSH rules, and threats to his career. The principal, citing mental and professional distress, has requested dismissal of the allegations and protection from what he calls persecution. A three-member committee found sufficient grounds for action, and the case is now under review by the university’s internal complaints committee. The university has not issued a public statement.
