Darren Humphreys, 59, convicted of stealing food from a Cumbria Greggs and pushing a manager, faces sentencing on October 8.
Darren Humphreys, 59, was found guilty at Workington Magistrates Court of six thefts and one count of common assault after stealing food from a Greggs store in Cumbria between April and June 2025.
CCTV footage showed him taking baguettes, sausage rolls, and drinks on multiple occasions, including one incident where he pushed a shift manager during a confrontation.
Police later found him eating a baguette near a bus station, surrounded by wrappers, with mayonnaise on his mouth.
Despite denying the charges and claiming someone gave him the food, the court convicted him based on surveillance evidence and testimony from five employees and five officers.
He was granted bail with a condition to avoid all Greggs stores in the region.
Sentencing is set for October 8, 2025.
