An Ann Arbor library exhibition showcases 20 translated works of contemporary Taiwanese literature, highlighting diverse themes and donating all books to the public.
An exhibition at the Ann Arbor District Library in Michigan, running from September 21, 2025, to January 9, 2026, features 16 translated works and four anthologies of contemporary Taiwanese literature.
Co-organized by the Taipei Cultural Center in New York and others, it highlights diverse themes like Taiwan’s White Terror era, LGBTQ experiences, women’s stories, and Indigenous myths through novels, essays, picture books, and graphic novels.
Featured titles include "Spent Bullets," "Taiwan Travelogue," and "The Mermaid’s Tale."
Three public lectures explore Taiwan’s history, food culture, lesbian desire in literature, and Indigenous mythology.
All displayed books will be donated to the library for public borrowing, promoting cross-cultural understanding and awareness of Taiwan’s literary diversity.
