Afghanistan approves $56 million in projects for infrastructure, healthcare, and jobs.
The Afghan government’s national procurement commission has approved six development projects worth 3.8 billion afghani ($56 million) to boost infrastructure, healthcare, and economic conditions.
Chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the commission selected the projects from 30 proposals, including a hospital in Kunar, greenhouses in Paktika, a road in Faryab, and electrical equipment for power companies.
The initiatives aim to create thousands of jobs and support economic recovery in a country still affected by decades of conflict.
Since 2021, the government has continued launching domestic-funded projects to address economic hardship and stimulate growth.
