Starting Q2 2026, Punggol, Singapore will launch autonomous shuttle services with safety operators, aiming to improve transit access and reduce travel times.
Starting in Q2 2026, Punggol, Singapore will launch three fixed-route autonomous shuttle services operated by Grab and ComfortDelGro using self-driving vehicles from WeRide and Pony.ai.
The purple-colored shuttles, equipped with amber roof beacons, will connect residential areas to key destinations like Punggol Plaza, Oasis Terraces, and Punggol Coast Mall, improving first- and last-mile connectivity and potentially cutting public transport travel times by up to 15 minutes.
Services will begin with non-passenger trials, followed by community trials and full commercial operation, all with safety operators on board.
Routes will operate weekdays from 9:30am to 5pm, with no pre-booking required for Grab’s routes and pre-booking via the Zig app for ComfortDelGro’s.
Real-time tracking will be available through the Grab app.
The Land Transport Authority aims to deploy up to 150 autonomous vehicles by 2026, with the project designed to complement existing bus services, especially for seniors, late-night travelers, and parents.
