A 41-year-old Rochester man, Lawrence James Hamilton, faces felony charges after allegedly threatening a juvenile boy and a woman with a BB gun at a city apartment complex on September 13. According to a criminal complaint, Hamilton brandished a replica of a Sig Sauer P365 handgun and made threats to shoot during an argument. No video evidence was available. Police later found the BB gun and two boxes of live 9mm ammunition at his home during a search. Hamilton, who has prior felony convictions including domestic assault and second-degree assault, is prohibited from possessing ammunition under state law. He was charged with felony threats and unlawful possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. He made his first court appearance with conditional bail set at $10,000 and is scheduled to return to court later in September.
