The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Pakistan has intensified its crackdown on illegal financial and human trafficking networks, arresting 494 suspects nationwide in 2025 for involvement in hawala, hundi, and unlicensed currency exchange operations.
Through 384 raids, authorities registered 396 cases, recovered over Rs 1.49 billion—including more than $466,000 and foreign currencies worth over Rs 203 million—and sealed multiple businesses.
In Quetta, 16 individuals were arrested, including a man and 14 Afghan nationals preparing to smuggle themselves into Iran and Europe, with digital evidence linking them to trafficking rings.
Two others were detained for running an illegal exchange business, with cash, devices, and records seized.
The FIA continues its nationwide operation, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy and using all available resources to dismantle underground financial systems and combat human smuggling.
