Pakistani police charged Imaan Mazari and others with terrorism over a protest at Islamabad High Court.
Pakistani police filed an anti-terror case against rights lawyer Imaan Mazari, her husband Hadi Ali Chattha, and several PTI-linked lawyers after a protest at the Islamabad High Court opposing the suspension of Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri.
The clash, involving around 150–200 lawyers, reportedly included physical altercations with IHCBA President Wajid Ali Gilani, who alleged assault and pressure to support actions against Imran Khan.
The IHCBA condemned the incident, called for terrorism charges and license revocation, and vowed to uphold the rule of law.
Shireen Mazari, Imaan’s mother, denied the allegations, claiming the FIRs are baseless and that her daughter was targeted.
The case has intensified debate over judicial independence and political influence in Pakistan’s legal system.
