Owens Corning is building a new shingle manufacturing plant in Prattville, Alabama, set to begin construction in early 2026 and start production in 2027.
The 250,000-square-foot facility will create nearly 100 skilled jobs and feature advanced automation, including a four-wide laminator producing about six million squares of laminate shingles annually.
It will primarily manufacture the company’s Duration series shingles and become one of 17 U.S. asphalt roofing plants.
The project, supported by $4.9 million in state infrastructure funding and $885,000 in workforce training, reflects growing industrial investment in Alabama and strengthens Owens Corning’s national production network.
