Ontario's Grey Roots Museum reopens renovated gallery with themes of history, culture, and community, funded by a $355K federal grant.
The Grey Roots Museum and Archives in Ontario unveiled its redesigned Grey County Gallery on September 19, 2025, concluding a multi-year renovation funded by a $355,486 grant from Canadian Heritage’s Canada Cultural Spaces Fund.
The updated exhibit, developed in phases starting in 2018, features new sections on themes like Voices, Abundance, Connection, Permanence, and Hope, showcasing local history through artifacts, archival images, and personal stories.
Designed for greater accessibility, flexibility, and inclusion, the gallery supports ongoing content changes and discovery-based learning.
Officials, including Minister Steven Guilbeault, praised the project for strengthening community identity and cultural preservation.
The exhibit is now open to the public.
