A Nova Scotia committee is urging improved road safety measures to reduce deaths among residents aged 25 and under, citing a review of 911-related fatalities from 2009 to 2023, many involving motor vehicle, ATV, and recreational vehicle crashes.
The report also recommends expanding suicide and homicide prevention efforts, enhancing water safety to prevent drownings, and increasing monitoring of extreme weather-related harms linked to climate change.
Justice Minister Becky Druhan said the government supports the findings and plans to act on the recommendations.
