Kebbi PDP confirms its September 20 and 27 congresses will proceed despite a vacated court order and internal disciplinary actions.
The Kebbi State chapter of Nigeria’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed disciplinary action against members accused of undermining its upcoming congresses on September 20 and 27, 2025.
Party Legal Adviser Nura Bello confirmed the national Disciplinary Committee was established to address anti-party activities and sabotage attempts.
A court order circulating online on September 18, claiming to suspend the congresses in Kano and Kebbi, was vacated by a judge due to misrepresentation and lack of jurisdiction.
Bello clarified that Kano was not on the congress schedule and that legal challenges should have been filed in the state High Court.
He urged members to participate actively, affirming the congresses will proceed as planned, with the party committed to a free and fair process.
