India’s S-400 missiles were pivotal in Operation Sindoor, disrupting Pakistani air operations and drone threats after a deadly terror attack.
Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh called the S-400 missile system a "game-changer" during Operation Sindoor, a May 7 military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.
The operation targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Singh said the S-400’s long-range capabilities denied enemy aircraft freedom to operate even within their own territory, preventing them from reaching weapon-release range.
He noted Pakistan used civilian flights to conceal drone launches from Lahore and emphasized that while drones can saturate defenses, winning wars requires a mix of manned and unmanned systems.
