Indian Railways cut bottled water prices starting Sept. 22, 2025, due to lower GST, making it cheaper for passengers.
Effective September 22, 2025, Indian Railways reduced the price of bottled water at stations and on trains following a GST reduction.
A one-litre bottle of Rail Neer now costs Rs 14, down from Rs 15, and a 500 ml bottle is priced at Rs 9, previously Rs 10.
The discount also applies to other IRCTC-approved bottled water brands sold on railways.
The change, confirmed by the Ministry of Railways, passes on GST benefits to passengers, aiming to make drinking water more affordable and accessible across India’s rail network.
