Chinese groups in Ghana donated $163,000 in aid to victims of ethnic violence in Savannah Region.
Chinese communities in Ghana have donated over 2 million cedis ($163,000) in relief supplies to victims of violent clashes in the Savannah Region.
The aid, provided by Greenhouse International Development Group Ghana Limited and the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies, included rice, beverages, hygiene items, and other essentials delivered to affected districts.
Savannah Regional Minister Salisu Be-Awuribe thanked the donors on behalf of residents and President Nana Akufo-Addo, saying the supplies would be distributed to those in need.
The violence, sparked by a land dispute between the Brifo and Gonja ethnic groups in late August, caused 31 deaths, injuries, mass displacement, and destroyed farms, markets, and businesses.
