Chattanooga volleyball lost 3-2 to Indiana State in a five-set match despite strong individual performances.

The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team lost a close five-set match to Indiana State, 3-2, in Nashville, despite strong performances from Sydney Jackwin and Kynli Kirkendoll, each with 12 kills, and Caiti Barthel’s 23 digs. Indiana State edged the Mocs in kills and hitting percentage, with both teams recording 11 service aces and 15 combined errors. The decisive fifth set featured a late rally by Indiana State after Chattanooga led 12-10. Meanwhile, Dalton State’s men’s soccer team drew 1-1 with Faulkner, with Luis Carrasco scoring in the 52nd minute and Nicolas Tamayo equalizing via penalty in the 87th minute; goalkeeper Nestor Mendez made two key saves to preserve the draw. The women’s team dominated Faulkner 4-0 in their SSAC opener, with Lexi Lyon and Sophia Calkins each scoring two goals, and goalkeeper Maggie Rickerd recording six saves and her third clean sheet. Both Dalton State teams head to West Point, Georgia, for their next matches on Sunday.
