The Missouri State Highway Patrol has launched the STORM team, a specialized unit of 23 officers with expertise in impaired driving, hazardous moving, interdiction, canine operations, and motorcycle enforcement.
Deployed since September 1, 2025, the unit has made 12 felony arrests and seized one firearm.
STORM units, supported by the Patrol’s Aircraft Division, focus on high-crash roadways and criminal activity, with a recent large-scale operation in Jackson County targeting dangerous driving and drug-related offenses.
The team aims to combat rising crime, including illegal street events in cities like St. Louis and Kansas City.
