Italian driver Fabio Barone set a new record by reaching 164 km/h on a carrier deck, surpassing his 2024 mark.
Italian driver Fabio Barone broke his own record on September 18, 2025, reaching 164 km/h (101 mph) in a Ferrari SF90 on the dry flight deck of the Italian Navy aircraft carrier Nave Trieste in Civitavecchia, near Rome.
The attempt followed a previous record of 152 km/h set in 2024 on another carrier.
The deck had to be dried after being wet from sea exposure, raising safety concerns.
Barone aimed to exceed 160 km/h and stop before the "ski jump" to avoid a crash.
The event was witnessed by officials, journalists, and children with Down syndrome who helped unveil the car.
His team will submit the certified results to Guinness World Records for official recognition.
