The vessel, staffed by five officers and 34 personnel, will support maritime surveillance, coastal security, anti-piracy efforts, search and rescue, and enforcement of maritime laws within India’s Exclusive Economic Zone.
Its commissioning marks a key step in strengthening India’s coastal defense and underscores the nation’s rising role in global maritime affairs, highlighted by its upcoming hosting of the 2027 Coast Guard Global Summit.
