Former Nigerian Minister of Power and Steel, Olu Agunloye, was re-arraigned on September 18, 2025, at the FCT High Court in Abuja on amended charges related to the alleged improper award of the Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Station contract. Accused of disobeying a presidential directive, forgery, and receiving gratification, Agunloye pleaded not guilty. The EFCC alleges he approved the contract for Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Limited in 2003 without due process, violating a Federal Executive Council directive and using forged documents. The case, tied to a long-delayed $6 billion project, was adjourned to October 9, 2025, for cross-examination of the third prosecution witness.
