DEME orders a 2028-delivered Chinese-built vessel to expand offshore wind cable work.
DEME, a Belgium-based offshore services company, has ordered a new Offshore Construction Vessel from China’s PaxOcean shipyard, set for delivery in 2028.
The 123-meter vessel, based on the Norwegian SALT 310 design, will feature a DP2 system, a 150-ton crane, ROV hangar, hybrid battery system, and methanol-ready propulsion.
It will support trenching, burial, and cable-laying operations, boosting DEME’s subsea cable capabilities for the growing offshore wind market.
The company also announced a new liquidity program to improve share trading and market access.
