Cobram Estate Olives raises $175M to expand U.S. olive farming, aiming to boost domestic supply amid rising demand and tariffs.
Australian olive company Cobram Estate Olives is expanding its U.S. operations, raising $175 million from institutional investors and launching a $10 million share offer to fund land purchases.
The company, which has 16,700 hectares in Australia and 1,000 hectares in California, plans to nearly double its Sacramento Valley planting by 2026 and grow its U.S. farming area to over 3,500 hectares by 2028.
The move aims to meet rising American demand for olive oil, largely imported from Europe and now subject to a 15% tariff.
