Cambodia cut oil imports by 13% in 2025 amid rising demand forecasts.
Cambodia spent $1.63 billion on diesel, gasoline, and combustion gas imports from January to August 2025, a 13.3% decrease from the same period in 2024.
Diesel imports fell 12.8% to $877 million, gasoline dropped 19% to $529 million, and combustion gas rose 1.7% to $225 million.
The country relies entirely on imports for oil and gas, as its seabed reserves remain untapped.
The Ministry of Mines and Energy forecasts oil and gas demand will rise to 4.8 million tons by 2030, up from 2.8 million tons in 2020.
