Israel’s new Iron Beam laser defense system, effective against rockets and drones, is set for deployment by late 2025.
Israel's Iron Beam laser defense system, developed by Elbit Systems and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, has successfully completed testing and is set for deployment by year-end.
Designed to intercept rockets, mortars, drones, and other aerial threats, the system uses high-power lasers to neutralize targets at a fraction of the cost of traditional interceptors.
It complements Israel’s existing Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow defense systems, providing a rapid, low-cost, multi-threat defense layer.
The system’s advanced optics allow accurate long-range targeting under various conditions, and it can engage multiple threats simultaneously.
The Israel Defense Forces will receive the first units by late 2025.
