Georgetown County Library gets $39K grant to expand American Revolution history programs and resources.
The Georgetown County Library in South Carolina received a $39,300 grant to launch "A Glorious Cause," a public history initiative highlighting South Carolina's role in the American Revolution.
The project will fund 1,000 adult nonfiction books on the Revolution, 15 free public educational presentations, and related programs across five library sites.
Supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the grant covers 64% of the project’s costs, with the remainder coming from non-government sources.
Book purchases begin in October 2025, and public programs start in January 2026, aiming to explore colonial life, culture, and the state’s contributions to American independence.
