Wales' 20mph speed limit reduced injuries by 900 and saved 14 lives since implementation.
Two years after lowering the default speed limit to 20mph on Welsh roads, data shows a significant drop in injuries, with 882 fewer people hurt since the change, and 900 fewer injuries overall, according to the Welsh government.
The reduction is especially notable on 20-30mph roads, where casualties fell twelve times more than on faster roads.
The policy, which cost £34m and sparked a record petition, has been linked to 14 lives saved and the lowest injury rate for a three-month period since records began in 1979.
While some critics remain concerned about safety, the government and advocacy groups say the results are promising and suggest long-term benefits, including lower insurance costs.
