Volunteers will gather at Canatara Park beach in Sarnia, Ontario, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon for the third annual cleanup organized by the Lake Huron Coastal Centre.
The event, part of ten shoreline cleanups along Lake Huron, aims to remove litter—especially plastic—with past efforts collecting about 79 kg (175 pounds) of waste.
Registration is encouraged online at www.lakehuron.ca/beachcleanup, though walk-ins are welcome.
Participants are advised to wear closed-toe shoes and bring water.
The non-governmental organization, formed in 1998, works to protect and restore the Lake Huron coastline from Sarnia to Tobermory.
