The Supreme Court has ordered the CPCB, CAQM, and state pollution control boards to create anti-pollution measures within three weeks ahead of winter, criticizing states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Punjab for failing to fill key vacancies in their boards, which must be resolved within three months.
The court also gave six months to fill promotional posts and directed a high-level meeting to discuss actions including emission monitoring, pollution control devices, and waste management.
The CAQM, a statutory body focused on air quality in the Delhi-NCR region, must submit a detailed report in three weeks.
The next hearing is set for October 8.
