Pacific International Lines (PIL) named its first LNG dual-fuel container vessel, the Kota Odyssey, in Ghana, marking a milestone for the company in the country.
The 8,200 TEU vessel, part of PIL’s “O” Class series, will operate on the Southwest Africa Service, linking China, Singapore, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, and Côte d'Ivoire with a direct weekly route.
The event, attended by Ghana’s Vice President, highlighted strong government support for sustainable maritime development.
PIL, active in Africa since the 1970s, serves over 30 countries and powers its Ghana operations with renewable energy via locally sourced certificates.
