Nissan is consolidating global design into five hubs and cutting production sites to 10 by 2027.
Nissan is closing its design centers in California and São Paulo, downsizing operations in London and Japan, and consolidating its global design efforts into five hubs: Los Angeles, London, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Atsugi.
This move is part of the company’s Re:Nissan turnaround plan, which also aims to reduce global production capacity to 2.5 million vehicles and cut manufacturing sites to 10 by fiscal 2027.
The number of jobs impacted was not disclosed.
