Moline launches $120M upgrade to modernize wastewater plant by 2029, funded by low-interest state loan.
Moline, Illinois has launched a $120 million project to modernize the South Slope Wastewater Treatment Plant, a key facility serving Moline, Coal Valley, and parts of East Moline.
The multi-year upgrade, expected to be completed in phases by 2029, will replace aging infrastructure with efficient, modern systems to meet state environmental standards.
Funded by a low-interest 30-year loan from the Illinois EPA at 1.9%, the project is being managed by IHC Construction Companies, selected through a competitive bid.
The plant will remain operational throughout construction.
