Lottomart.com operator fined £360K for weak anti-money laundering and gambling safeguards.
Maple International Ventures, operator of Lottomart.com, has agreed to pay a £360,000 fine to the UK Gambling Commission over failures in anti-money laundering and social responsibility protections.
The investigation found inadequate risk assessments, weak controls for detecting suspicious activity like mule accounts and duplicate profiles, and insufficient measures to identify harmful gambling behaviors such as binge playing or high-stakes betting after wins.
The company also delayed responding to money laundering alerts and failed to properly verify customer identities before allowing large transactions.
The penalty includes a £50,000 contribution to responsible gambling initiatives, with all funds directed to socially responsible causes.
