India's NHAI expects to raise $4.2–4.8 billion from road asset sales in FY26, surpassing its target and previous year's record.
ICRA projects that India's National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) could raise Rs 35,000–40,000 crore from road asset monetisation in FY26, exceeding its Rs 30,000 crore target and surpassing the Rs 24,399 crore raised in FY25.
The agency attributes this to timely monetisation of identified assets, including 7,000 km announced between FY23 and FY25, with about 2,000 km completed and 1,170 km offered via five TOT bundles.
NHAI has raised Rs 92,633 crore since FY19 using TOT and InvIT mechanisms, with TOT accounting for 53% of proceeds.
The projected FY26 revenue could bring total monetisation since inception to around Rs 1.3 lakh crore.
