Tamil Nadu received ₹127.586 crore for 2,901 gram panchayats, 74 block panchayats, and nine district panchayats, while Assam received ₹214.542 crore for all its eligible rural bodies.
These grants, disbursed in two installments, support location-specific development needs and are not tied to specific projects, except for salaries and establishment costs.
The funds aim to strengthen rural governance and infrastructure across the states.
