A Georgia man was sentenced to five years in prison for arson at a nail salon, causing $400,000 in damage.
Cang Thanh Luu, a 48-year-old Vietnamese national from Gwinnett County, was sentenced to five years in prison for intentionally setting fire to Nick's Nails salon in Woodstock, Georgia, in January 2021.
He admitted to second-degree arson and criminal damage to property, with investigators finding gasoline, multiple fire origins, and a gas can nozzle at the scene.
Surveillance footage showed Luu purchasing gloves and arriving in a Camry before the blaze, which caused about $400,000 in damages and affected nearby businesses.
He will serve three years in prison, followed by two on probation, and must pay $382,589 in restitution.
Luu will be deported after his sentence.
