Galway County Council secured €6.6M to turn Tuam’s old station into a job-creating enterprise hub.
Galway County Council has secured €6.6 million in funding to transform the former Tuam railway station into an enterprise hub, part of the EU-funded THRIVE scheme.
The project, co-financed by Ireland and the European Union, will include individual work suites, a podcast studio, a café, and a multi-use space for events and education.
Detailed designs will be completed before contractor procurement in early summer 2026.
The redevelopment marks the first phase of a broader station area regeneration, aiming to boost Tuam’s economy and create jobs through collaboration with Irish Rail.
