Travel between China and ASEAN countries reached over 25.24 million trips in the first eight months of 2025, a 11.2% increase from the same period last year, according to China's National Immigration Administration. Chinese travelers visited ASEAN nations 14.5 million times, up 3.7%, mainly for tourism and family visits, while over 10.7 million ASEAN residents entered China, a 27.5% rise, largely for tourism and business. Most inbound visitors entered visa-free. The administration plans to introduce new policies to further ease cross-border travel, boost economic cooperation, and support regional development.
