Chevron and Israel agree to build 65-km Nitzana pipeline to export natural gas to Egypt, starting late 2025.
Chevron and Israel Natural Gas Lines have agreed to build the Nitzana pipeline, transporting natural gas from Israel’s Leviathan field to Egypt.
The 65-kilometer route, set to begin construction in late 2025, will add about 600 million cubic feet of daily export capacity, raising Israel’s total to over 2.2 billion cubic feet per day.
The project includes a compressor station in Ramat Hovav and is expected to be completed in three years.
It will support Egypt’s energy needs and align with the start of production from Energean’s Katlan field in 2027.
The 15-year agreement, extendable by five years, grants the Leviathan consortium at least 33.33% of pipeline capacity.
