Chevron beat earnings estimates in Q2 2025, but some big investors sold shares despite strong dividends and a "Hold" rating.
In the second quarter of 2025, several institutional investors reduced their stakes in Chevron Corporation, including Sandy Cove Advisors, Berkshire Bank, MassMutual Private Wealth & Trust FSB, ACT Wealth Management, and Exchange Bank, while Strategic Advocates LLC increased its holdings.
Chevron reported second-quarter earnings of $1.77 per share, exceeding estimates by $0.19, with revenue of $44.82 billion, up from analyst forecasts of $44.59 billion.
The company’s net margin was 7.02% and return on equity was 9.90%.
Despite a 12.4% year-over-year revenue decline, Chevron maintained a strong dividend yield of 4.3% and received a "Hold" consensus rating with a target price of $165.05.
