Vietnamese coconut farmers in Vinh Long province are seeing a major economic boost after China and Vietnam signed a protocol in August 2024 allowing fresh coconut exports to China for the first time. This new market has increased daily earnings by 300,000 to 400,000 Vietnamese dong, with some farmers earning up to 1 million dong per day. Harvesting has risen from 1,000–1,500 to 3,000–4,000 coconuts daily, reducing waste and stabilizing incomes. Exporters like KK Premium now send 99% of their coconuts to China, supported by streamlined logistics and cross-border agreements, fueling optimism for long-term growth.
