Uniqlo's CEO warns U.S. tariffs could harm the economy and lead to higher prices.
Uniqlo founder Tadashi Yanai, Japan's richest man and CEO of Fast Retailing, warned that the U.S. could suffer the most from tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, citing potential global economic damage.
Speaking at a New York event, Yanai expressed concern that widespread trade disputes could lead to global financial instability.
Fast Retailing, which operates Uniqlo, plans to raise product prices to offset higher U.S. tariffs, as most Uniqlo items sold in the U.S. are made in Southeast and South Asia.
