Two Ohio inmates escaped Sept. 14, one caught, one still at large; both face serious charges.
Two inmates, Roy Gene Butler and Jerry Lee Cooper, escaped from the Brown County Jail in Ohio on September 14, 2025, by breaking a security window and fleeing through the sheriff's impound lot between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Butler, 51, was arrested the following day in Northern Kentucky, while Cooper, 48, remains at large near the Mason/Bracken County line.
Both men faced prior felony charges, including attempted murder, felonious assault, and illegal gun possession, with Butler also charged with drug trafficking.
They now face additional escape charges.
A multi-agency search is ongoing, and the public is urged to contact law enforcement if they have information.
The jail has a history of inmate escapes, with four incidents between 2020 and 2022.
